Grand Inauguration: Women Empowerment & Self-Reliance Project, Malkangiri

On 17 June 2026, Odisha Matrushakti Pragati Foundation held the grand inauguration of its Women Empowerment & Self-Reliance Project at Chitapali-1 Gram Panchayat, Korkunda Block, Malkangiri district — an initiative aimed at empowering rural and tribal women through skill development, self-employment opportunities, stitching machine distribution, livelihood support, and social awareness programs.

More than 600 women from six Gram Panchayats took part. Each Panchayat received equipment and materials worth approximately ₹1.5 lakh — including sewing machines, sarees and blouse material, Ayurvedic medicines, cosmetic products, and phenyl — giving participants the starting inventory to become financially independent and self-sufficient.

Mr. Manohar Sahu, Sub-Inspector of Orkel Police Station, attended as Chief Guest, with Mr. Sanjit Kumar Takri, Assistant Sub-Inspector, as Guest of Honour. The programme was conducted by OMSPF's Founder and Director, Mr. Bidyadhar Nayak, with fellow Director Mrs. Pramila Kumari Nayak attending as Special Guest alongside her son and daughter.
